I will answer the question but first, a warning: In general I will avoid discussing certain aspects of GMing in depth, especially any questions about what I would have done if x hadn't happened etc. This is because from experience it leads people to start deconstructing it as they listen rather than engaging with the story and they would have been happier not knowing.
So, with that in mind I won't be telling you what was happening but I will say why I bothered mentioning it. A few reasons: 1) I don't like the idea that just because a character is off the battlemap they don't matter, so often I will keep them in combat time and doing stuff behind the scenes. 2) Mentioning that stuff to the party helps remind them that there is world outside of the area they are fighting in. It sounds daft but little touches like that help people avoid getting trapped thinking only about the next turn. I find fighters have a hard time with this problem because the way their build works encourages them to think that way. 3) Sometimes things happening behind the scenes are time dependent and I need to make sure I stayed in turn order, otherwise when GMing I can lose track of how far along in a task an npc is. 4) I have a bad habit of saying everything that enters me mind the second it does.
Hope some of that helps. Sorry I can't give any more info.

I have to admit its pretty difficult trying to fit in the odd one-liner and still keep things moving. Secretly I am an incorrigible show off and I keep James around to stay humble.
I would say though that my favorite joke is actually Bryn's (in character) but in an episode that no one except me has heard yet.
Bryn is right though, sometimes you miss stuff in conversation at the time especially when I am GMing and also monitoring all the audio equipment and trying not to say "errrr "(I always fail).

All suggestions for feats are more than welcome although I won't be putting it to a vote. Ultimately Bertie is James' creation to do with what he will. (Although if he tries to put it to a vote I might show him just how messed up a character's build can become...)

I am currently trying to implement this on the website but there might be a slight delay as we are currently focusing more on getting initial listeners than the website. Website stuff should be improving in the near future though.

Hey all super techie to the rescue!
I'll try and go through everything in order: 1) The reason we prefer iTunes is because most people listen to podcasts via iTunes and many (but not all) podcast directories get their data from iTunes. This means a high ranking on iTunes is more visible than anywhere else. 2) The way that iTunes ranking works is a bit arcane but it takes into account the ratio of reviews to listeners and number of subscribers. The more those numbers increase over time the higher the ranking. 3) At this stage if anyone wants to help, word of mouth is the biggest factor. If you are able to subscribe via iTunes and leave us a written review on there it would be a big help. However, I took the time to add us to every directory that would take us so if you'd rather listen via another app or program go nuts! 4) Eventually it will help us more if people start to listen via the main Website but honestly there is still a lot of work to do before we get to that stage. 5)On iTunes, since iOS update 7 all podcasts have to be listened via the dedicated app (rather than as music) so I don't believe you can rate individual episodes although you can Facebook "like" individual episodes. When playing an episode hit the review tab and you should see a little hyperlink at the top. 6)Regarding upload volumes I will definitely take this on board. I have followed the recommended guidelines from iTunes for volume (Optimised for stereo headphones) but if this is too quiet its a simple job to boost it in future episodes. That said, we actually record episodes a few weeks in advance and it takes so much time to edit that I am not able to take the time to go back and re-edit old episodes. I will try to boost the volumes in future edits though. 7) Hope that helps. 8) Revels!

Hi Guys,
Good to see the forum up and running albeit with less togas than I'd like. I'm Alex the podcast host, cheers to all of you for jumping in. If there's one thing the tech world has taught us its that early adopters get all of the benefits with no teething problems whatsoever. At all.
Glad people are already giving Ben stick about the leg. (Pun totally intended.) Although I will chip in and say I asked all of the cast to be as flavorful as possible without getting too complex in their builds early on. Thus... peg leg, apparently.
I will be less frequent than our good moderator Brave Sir Robin and our community manager... who should be making an appearance imminently.
Any issues, be sure to let us know. We may not be able to help but we are brilliant at commiserating. We'll commiserate with you SO hard.
