I think a lot more people have it than realise. It doesn't come up a lot, and when you stumble across it naturally it's usually mild enough that you don't need to fully examine why you don't like looking at a thing, but I think it's actually very common. It's one of the reasons it's such a good phobia to explore in a horror context.

You're correct that the timings do not match up properly. All I'll say is that in this case it's not a mistake to be rectified - we are not finished with Hill Top Road.

Huh, the wiki has April for the statement, January for the event. ...Whoops. I mean, er, congratulations! You pass the test. Of remembering that. The event was in January, yes. Ok, maybe people can go to hospitals in the Summer sometimes. We'll see.

*An unnatuaral howlng cackle dogs your heels* ... Is it that people always seem to find themselves at hospitals over Christmas? EDIT: Seriously, man, can you write people visiting hospitals NOT between the months of December and January?! Once is routine, twice is happenstance, and 3 times is enemy action... I believe the trip to Cambridge Military Hospital took place in April. Jane Prentiss was admitted in late February. And the long nights, the cold... Winter is rife with potential for accidents and illness. There is a very real world increase in hospital admissions during that time. The weighting of statement incidents in that direction probably just reflects that.

Thank you all for this - it's very useful. While the ultimate shape and destination of these threads is largely set, it's always good to know which people want to see more of on the way.
Also very interesting to see are which threads no-one has spotted yet, which connections have not yet been made. I can tell you now there are one or two nasties that have come up a few times with more or less subtlety that have not been mentioned yet on these forums.

It is spelled Harriet Lee. She is asian, though I don't believe it came up in the episode.
Sorry, I know all the names are confusing spelling-wise - once the episode transcripts are released (in whatever form they end up taking) it will become much less of a crapshoot.

Also, after looking at this and noticing that Episodes 6, 16, 22, 26 and 32 all feature Prentiss, we are forced to conclude that MAG 2: Do Not Open and MAG 12: First Aid are also linked in some way (This is the first evidence linking Prentiss to both the Keays and Breekon and Hope!). I'm pretty certain I've solved it, guys: the next episode with Prentiss will be MAG 36, airing on 15/9/16. Now where's my tinfoil hat to protect me from the bugs? Trust me, the bugs understand that humans normally use tin-foil to wrap up food... In seriousness, though, I will state explicitly that the ordering/numbering of episodes is not, and will not in future be, directly connected to any of the actual story. Case numbers? Maybe. But the actual order episodes are released is just in chronological order of their recording in universe (and usually out of universe). While you're right there is a certain regularity to episodes directly addressing Jane Prentiss, this is a case of trying to give the Season 1 plot appropriate dramatic pacing, rather than any grander meta-conspiracy.

Also - I would say that while we can do a lot of cool special effects in audio, we do not currently have anywhere near the budget or specific skillsets available to make good visual SFX.
I'd be quite keen I think to potentially have a few "video supplements" to sit alongside TMA, but it's very much an audio show in its twisted, sharpened bones. Even if Mr Cathode himself, King of TV, offered me eighty hundred hundred pounds to write it for TV, I think what came out the other side would be VERY different to The Magnus Archives as we know it, if not a different show altogether.

Im partially inclined to think Jonny has been listening to the podcast called "Casefile" a horrific podcast where one auzzie just tells the true storys of murder victims and murderers. Hm... might give that a listen, although I generally avoid too much in the way of "true crime" style stuff (after all, in The Magnus Archives, man is most definitely NOT the real monster). That said, for research into this episode I did look into quite a lot of testimony by abattoir workers about how it basically kills you inside, and statistically it definitely makes you more prone to violence.

I haven't - I used to absolutely love the comic, but haven't been following the show.

Do they use any podcast apps at all? I've also noticed that episodes will periodically drop from iTunes, for reasons best known to the iGods, but most podcast apps have everything from the feed. I always recommend Podcast Addict - it's just a really good, reliable way to manage your podcasts (though the interface takes a little getting used to), and I can definitely confirm it has all episodes of The Magnus Archives.

Ah, cool, no problem. Just thought I was starting to lose it.
And it is far too early for that...

Sorry, wait - I must have missed this. Where does "St?" come from? It's called Lost Johns' Cave. Did I refer to it as St John's at some point and forget?
