Excellent! Grant does an excellent line in one-page games if you're looking for low-prep, somewhat chaotic, quick games - Honey Heist is another good one (you play as a group of bears looking to disrupt an event).

OR: "Stranger gambits"
Things are gearing up in the Archives, as our team make ready to take on The Stranger and try to stop the Unknowing. But Elias has some choice words from Gertrude, and it doesn't look like Martin or Melanie will be going along for the ride. The stakes are high and the risks even higher, plus there's the matter of any 'rogue' elements...
Seriously creepy episode this week - one of the strongest statements of the season, I feel. The lyricism of the speech, especially as Janssen's viewpoint gets twisted by the Stranger... really excellent. And kudos to Jonny for yet again taking a historical event and managing to find a new way to skew it - the Mechanical Turk always was a bit of an odd thing, but now, even more so.
So, what next for our intrepid team? Should Elias be making plans to replace the Archivist? Is that why he agreed to Martin staying back? And just what is Martin's plan?
Get ready - I have a feeling the finale is going to be explosive, in more ways than one.

And we're back with Part 2 folks! More hijinks, noble sacrifices and animals galore as the team tried valiantly to keep JS from plumbing the depths of Sadness on his epic holiday.
If you have suggestions for other games you'd like to see us do as one-shots, let us know!

Season finale.
Though, I guess everything is just a build-up for the Finale Finale in the End...

OR: "Stewing on meaty matters"Ah, the infamous Mikaele Salesa finally crosses the threshold to make a statement. Or, apparently, add one to the pile. And it certainly is a meaty tale, verily, one to give an arm and a leg to hear... A tale of beginnings it seems, as we discover a lot of background, notably that it was being employed by Leitner that got him a start in the artefacts business and that there's nothing so amoral as money. Some lovely snippets of worldbuilding as we learn of a book that just ate one of Leitner's assistants, and that the meat grinder still exists, possibly in Canada. And then we get a visit from Helen... as the Archivist decides that they need to close the door on that one. Existential crises among the avatars? Is this something peculiar to the Spiral? Or did Helen's words hit just a little bit too close to home? Whatever the reason, strap yourselves in folks. We're on a run to the finale from here on out - so grab some of Gertrude's explosives and let's make the show go out with a bang!

The crew take a little bit of a holiday from the main storyline to try and do some relaxing of their own, with renowned action movie star Jason Statham. As you do... Yes, the crew (sans Lydia alas) are joined by Mike LeBeau - our noble Head of Video and voice of Tim Stoker on The Magnus Archives - for their biggest task yet, as they try to ensure the actor has a jolly good time on holiday. At an owl sanctuary. In South Africa. Yup, it wouldn't be a Rusty Quill special without accents galore. And, oh boy, there are *accents* in this one, no doubt. Thrill, spills and very definite hijinks ensue as our valiant tour party have to fend off boredom and the actions of a dastardly nemesis, out to prevent a good time being had by all! And if you're interested, Jason Statham's Big Vacation is a One-Page Design from our good friend, Grant Howitt over at Rowan, Rook & Decard - you can pick it up as Pay What You Want over at their website! And join us for Part 2 next week...

OR: "Temporal anomaly"
So, we're back in Oxford and on Hill Top Road at that house. Simple cleaning job, tidy up after the builders, wipe down the surfaces, get it ready for new victims inhabitants... check out the door that wasn't on the plans, investigate the spooky basement, look into the floor-spanning rift... all in a day's work, really.
And now we have Anya Villette, a lady apparently stranded in a time that is not her own. Or at least not the one she remembers. Gas leak, perhaps? A dizzy spell that led her to cocoon herself under the furniture plastic...
Then we come to Tim. Or at least The Archivist finds out where Tim has been and has, what is probably, the longest overdue chat in history. And maybe, just maybe, Tim's coming round. Everyone's gonna help him avenge his brother. They know where Nikola is hiding out. Things are gonna get better, things are looking up. Excepting that the Corpse de Ballet now has Gertrude's skin, and the Dancer may be wearing a familiar face that no-one expected...

OR: "The Esoteric Elegance of Exits and Entrances"
Trust LOLOMG to make a mountain out of a simple carriage ride... Luckily Topaz T. Camel is around, though what a celestial camel thinks of this party is probably best left unexplored.
Laughs and puns abound as ever, as Alex's despair continues to ratchet. Or should that be clank? Either way, the party seem to have some considerable obstacles to surmount if even Hamid's charm isn't getting them past the front gate. What secrets does Clanks have to hide? Have we finally discovered that old gaming trope of the shadowy industrial complex, intent on 'improving' the world a la Umbrella Corp or Weyland-Yutani? And, of course, the most pressing question - is the LOLOMG Dagger Display a sound enough show to take on the road?

I can't quite remember which name comes up in this ep but from context it will either be Bolla Smok ("Meritocrat of Magic", based in Prague) or Guivres ("Meritocrat of Banking", based in Paris).

OR: "Sweet dreams are made of this"
A treasure hunt with the potential for an explosive find? Something to blow the mystery wide open? To C4, perchance to dream, mayhaps... We're back with things that go bump and boom in the night, it seems, as the team open up Gertrude's storage locker to find a veritable trove of goodies, including presents from one Adelard Dekker, "exorcist" (last encountered in MAG078 'Distant Cousin'). And we get a statement on payback and debts, another means to end up in service to a power, when the fear of dying leads you to make deals - an all too familiar story, but with an interesting twist here. No games, no dice, just the cherry red of carbon monoxide poisoning...
So, the Archivist has a possible means to stop the Unknowing and at least knows the Dancer can't use the ancient gorilla as a costume... does that mean Orsinov will be gunning for his skin again? Is another kidnapping on the cards? And what of Melanie's reluctance to give a statement? Is Justin Gough still at large? And Martin just wants to be helpful...
Sweet dreams are made of this... Is the Archivist going to disagree?

OR: "Factory Settings"A busy factory churning out batches of Damascus steel, being super-productive, for a process that is supposed to be very labour-intensive... somethings doesn't seem right. But can LOLOMG in the guise of inspectors get to the bottom of how these gadgets are being produced? It seems like the wheels of plot are rumbling as they discover where the lump of metal came from - but can they detect anything more from the shipping patterns and the strange number of orcish names that are showing up on the manifest? And what of the redacted one? Some lovely work from Grizzop as he seems very happy to show what goblin productivity looks like. And look just how rapidly they are able to cater for issues of orc-cessability (thanks to the Discord for that one)! Though will their attempts at corporate e-spyro-nage be ultimately successful? We shall have to wait to find out... (though I doubt that wait will be patient, since, y'know, goblins )

OR: "Hunting parties"
It's Basira's turn to read a statement, and we hear tell of a true crime club who turn to true crime to make things interesting after a strange encounter with a visitor. And Daisy comes to visit with news of John's return, the need for distraction and some troubling discussion about dreams...
A somewhat lower energy take after the outpouring of last week's revelations and the chance for Basira and Daisy to get a well-earned catch-up amidst the chaos of the Unknowing. Touching really, as we discover that Elias has the former detective out chasing down Stranger things.
But what's in store for our intrepid assistants? And what are the others likely to find in that storage locker?
