I'm wondering if each of the fractals has a different effect and how many others are out there.. Do they work in conjunction with each other... like if you put the vase on the table... i was delighted to find an MA podcast this morning and even happier with the content... but that ending.... gah!!

I so need to invest in a corkboard and red string now that I cleared a wall in my craft room ...

There's a great podcast called "Podcast to the Curious" which does interesting analysis of the works of M.R James as well. ooh thanks - I'll add that to my list

Perhaps the disarray Gertrude left the archive in was a deliberate attempt to protect the Archive and its workers. The more cases that Jonathan goes through the more the evil seems to be aware of them.

yessss a fellow Lovecraft fan - My Nanowrimo novel this year looks like its going to be Lovecraft based Graham Masterton is excellent. when I lived in scotland in the 90s I was obsessively hunting down all his work I'm a big fan of 'the woman in Black' - I saw the stage play a few years ago and that was chilling!

+ 1 million for Session 9 - that one is one of my favourites and so vastly underrated.
I'm quite heavily into Asian Horror movies as they are more spooky than gross. My preference for horror tends more to those set during wartime. I'll put my thinking cap on for ones closer to Magnus archive...

Thank you for sharing your stories doctortoc, Sometimes I think its real life that can be scarier than ghosts.
I don't live in a converted orphanage, but i do live in a Murder House (capitals my own). It was something that happened 10 years ago in the garage of the house and when the owners came to do a house check when I first moved in and signed the rental papers they asked if I had heard anything spooky there. I said no as I'd only been in a couple of weeks and the wife said that there had been nuns and a priest living there since so I shouldn't worry. In fact they lived there before the event, tho not part of it, so if they did bless the house it wasn't really a success. I have two other housemates, one in the upstairs and one across the hall. The upstairs one is away a lot which isn't helpful when you hear the upper floor creak when you know he's not in the country, There is definitely something living in the roof, my housemate and I have heard it attempt to dig through the livingroom ceiling - something too big to be a mouse. Sometimes its birds on the roof, sometimes its...something else. I don't like that the garage ceiling hatch hasn't got a cover over it so i always check the garage door into the house is locked. The next time my housemates are both away I'll record what sound DO relate to him walking around upstairs ... just in case.
and no, i will not be playing that augmented reality horror game in the house. Just in case.

The more i think of them the creepier they get - who is making them? why are they being made? What is so important about them needing to pass as human in whatever task they are assigned?

I'm now wondering how many people we have in common!! If you're in anyway connected to the wider Wellington nerd community I'm guessing at least 3-5 mutuals. I'm hoping there'll be an influx of NZers here soon; lord knows I've shouted at them about MA enough. I'll take a wild stab at guessing from your signature you are related to the Library in some way ?

Or perhaps they're just indifferent. Someone told them it was what was on the inside that counted, and they took it literally. I would definitely agree with this, judging by the heart scene. I also think they were practicing dissection in the basement of the house.

ahaha - its not that bad really!!! In three years I've only have 2 sandfly bites and about 10 mosquito bites and its really worth coming here, its so beautiful! I'm Wellington based - so if you ever make it - let me know! I can be your guide! Can second New Zealand as an awesome place to visit. Also Wellington based. In NZ there's no such thing as six degrees of separation - it's more like three or less! I'm now wondering how many people we have in common!!

Hello! I've been appearing all over the MA boards like a small, persistent rash but I thought I'd say hello here as well Pretty much the most interesting things that I'm willing to admit to in public are in my signature, but I also larp - GMing a campaign, playing a campaign, and crewing in a campaign, which feels all very correct and balanced. I'd love to talk to other larpers about the scene in the UK at some point! I found MA through recommendations from The Black Tapes Reddit. MA has quickly supplanted it in my affections, and it's my preferred listening when I'm shelving. I found MA through the Black Tapes Reddit too!! I used to LARP Vampire WoD when I lived in Scotland and I loved it. Still have a lot of good friends who do this

Its usually Australia thats classed as everything trying to kill you, but New Zealand has a bit of bite to it too - sandflies are the worst!!
(Fellow Kiwi here) I'm allergic to the damn things. Luckily katipo are both shy and rare. TBH spiders don't bother me because we have formed an alliance against my real enemies, mosquitos.
Well being originally from the UK - the mosquitos were a shock! I'm not allergic, but wowsers you should see the giant circular swellings and welts they give me sometimes. I still have a scar on my foot from a sandfly bite. Nasty things!!!
