I've started listening from the beginning again and you know what, there is so much more in this episode than any of us could have understood the first time. I would strongly encourage anyone who hasn't listened to this episode since the beginning to go and listen to it again, and then come back here and wildly theorise with me.

I truly, profoundly hate Janice on Ice. She’s just the worst. Is this because she's so similar to all the characters you have played in all the previous one-shots? That's Mr Dr Janice on Ice.

I cannot think of a better use of invisibility than avoiding awkward social encounters.

Does that mean some more backstory is incoming...? I think I may have inadvertently let slip a tiny bit of previously hidden Hamid background in this episode. I wonder if anyone noticed (or if it was even new, it's hard to remember after 66 episodes). Is it that he was thrown out of university? I thought that had come up before, but that may just be that he hadn't finished university and I extrapolated. In the Exposition Box? ETA. It was in episode 19!

Zolf, I feel you. Line management is just not all it's cracked up to be. There are some very good courses in Managing Difficult People out there! Mind you, Bertie is probably the image in the dictionary next to Unmanageable.
It's not the first time a character has seemed to go - Bertie's side quest, that time everyone died... After all this has panned out and things have settled into whatever the new normal is, I'd love to hear a metacast talking about how you handled it. Unless they all sort themselves out next week, in which case it might be very short.

I was just surprised that it was Hamid who decided to be the personification of the patriarchal literary hegemony. Normally Bertie gets to represent The Man in every facet of life.

Well timed break in this episode, as Lydia was not the only person trying not to cry with laughter at that point. My fellow commuters think I'm mad enough as it is.

This was a really great episode. I do love the high-speed-no-extraneous-details-pulp stylings, but I also love that we've spent enough time with the characters that they can just sit around, chat and not do much and it's just as engaging.

Can confirm. Jonny's mum and dad are Gertrude and Leitner respectively. How cool is that!? Best twist yet.

Spooniermist, that was also my question - are Gertrude and Leitner Jonny's mum and dad?!
I think I need to listen again before I have any solid thoughts on content.

I don't have anything very exciting to add, but I wanted to let you all know that I've been very much enjoying this stretch of episodes. I listen to podcasts while I walk to/from work and RQG is always the highlight of my fortnight.

If it's any comfort, I'm reasonably certain that in that context, the is pronounced as ze.

I'm not very imaginative, so in my head Martin looks like Martin Freeman.

I do a bit of sound editing in my job and Alex, I just want you to know that I feel your pain. I really, really feel it.
Great getting the insight into some of your process and a bit of extra info about the characters. Looking forward to part 2!
